Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does a bookkeeper do for a small business?

A bookkeeper records and organizes your financial transactions, reconciles accounts, manages invoices and payments, and generates reports. I make sure your books are accurate, up to date, and ready for tax season, so you can focus on running your business.

2. Do you offer virtual/remote services?

Yes! While I am based in Long County, Georgia, all of my services are virtual, which means I can support small business owners anywhere in the United States. This gives you the flexibility of working with a professional bookkeeper without being limited by location.

3. Do you handle taxes?

As a bookkeeper, I don't specialize in taxes. I keep your books clean, accurate, and ready for your CPA or tax preparer, who I can coordinate with throughout the year. However, many clients find tax season far less stressful because their books are already organized.

4. What types of businesses do you work with?

I work with most types of small businesses. Whether you run an Etsy shop, a photography business, offer plumbing services, or sell real estate, etc., I can help keep your books accurate and organized. From side hustles to established teams, every small business benefits from clear financial records and stress-free bookkeeping.

5. Do I need a bookkeeper if I already have an accountant?

Maybe! It depends on your needs. If you only want help at tax time, an accountant may be enough. But if you’d like accurate books month-to-month, financial reports you can rely on, or help staying organized all year long, a bookkeeper is the better fit. Many businesses use both for the best results.

6. How do you price your services?

Pricing depends on the size of your business and the complexity of your books. After a free consultation, I’ll provide a custom quote tailored to your needs. I use subscription-based pricing, so you’ll pay a flat monthly fee with no surprises. Payments are set up through autopay for convenience and peace of mind.

7. How do I get started?

The first step is to reach out through the contact form on my website, emailing me, or messaging me on Facebook. From there, we’ll go over your business and bookkeeping needs by phone, video call, or email, whichever you prefer. My goal is to make getting started as simple and stress-free as possible for you.

8. Do you offer one-time cleanups as well as ongoing monthly support?

Yes! I provide both ongoing monthly bookkeeping and one-time catch-up/cleanup services for businesses that need to get back on track. Even if you feel behind, it’s never too late to get your finances back in order. No matter your situation, I’ll help you get your books organized and give you a clear path forward.

9. Do I need accounting software to work with you?

I specialize in bookkeeping with QuickBooks Online, which is the most widely used bookkeeping software for small businesses. QuickBooks Online is easy to use and packed with features that make managing your finances simpler and more efficient. If you’re not set up yet, I can help you get started and show you how to use it effectively for your business. As an independent bookkeeper certified in QuickBooks Online, I’m not affiliated with Intuit, but I’m trained to help you make the most of the software.

10. Is my financial data secure?

Absolutely. All work is done using secure, industry-standard software such as QuickBooks Online, which uses bank-level encryption to safeguard your data. I never store your financial information on personal devices, and access is always password-protected. I also use secure file-sharing methods and multi-factor authentication where available. Protecting your information is a top priority, so you can have peace of mind knowing your books are safe.
